MIAWeek is an event dedicated to innovation and youth entrepreneurship for the transformation of food systems in the Mediterranean and Africa. It stems from a clear vision that also serves as its guiding principle: innovation is not an isolated process, but a collective endeavour rooted in local communities, ecosystems and territories. For this reason, MIAWeek is neither a trade fair nor simply a conference. It is an ecosystem that comes together once a year to build relationships, share knowledge, foster collaboration and launch new initiatives.
This year, MIAWeek will also host the African Union–European Union–Mediterranean Innovation Fair on 25 November 2026, organised by the African Union, the European Union, and the Union for the Mediterranean, in partnership with CIHEAM Bari as the local host. This major event will bring together participants from Africa, Europe and the Mediterranean region to accelerate the scale-up, market deployment and uptake of innovative solutions emerging from collaborative research and innovation in food systems and agriculture.
